Your support makes a huge difference.
We are Paws & Claws Animal Rescue Service a small cat rescue charity, founded in 1977 covering the Mid Sussex area. We have many lovely cats looking for adoption who would love a new home.
We hold many fundraising events during the year and attend many others throughout the Sussex area.
Rosemary & Basil
These lovely bonded siblings left us as kittens but are back in our care as their devoted owners have sadly just passed away.
Paws & Claws Book Fair
Our Book Fairs are a magnet for enthusiasts from all over southern England with over 40 stalls selling thousands of interesting rare and collectable books. Next date 17 January 2026.

A compilation of 23 heartwarming stories of our bravest cats who have faced great adversity with great courage. Available from our online shop.
Microchipping your pet
Since the 10 June 2024 it has been a legal requirement to have your cat microchipped or you could face a £500 fine.
The new law applies to both indoor and outdoor cats but not to farm or ferals with little or no interaction with people.
We ensure that all cats that leave our Rescue Centre have been microchipped.
Homes with young Children
Some of our cats and kittens have been rescued from difficult circumstances and from our long experience we believe that they will fare best in new homes where there are NO CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS.
Rural / Outside home needed for young neutered cat
Preferring the outdoor life, a good mouser in return for food and shelter
Suitable homes include stables, smallholdings etc.
