Gift Aid
Make your gift even more valuable!
If you are planning to make a donation to Paws & Claws and you are a UK taxpayer, you can increase the value of your donation, at no extra cost to you, just by completing a Gift Aid declaration form.
Generous Government concessions to charities
As part of the Government’s help for charities the Gift Aid Scheme enables us to reclaim the tax you paid on the money you donate, currently 25p for every £1 you donate. All you have to do is give your permission.
No minimum amount and no commitment
There is absolutely no minimum amount and there is absolutely no commitment on your part to make regular gifts. Just complete this form and return it to us.
You must be a UK tax payer
You must pay income tax and/or capital gains tax. In the tax year you made your donation the amount you paid in tax must cover the tax that Paws & Claws will reclaim. A tax year runs from 6th April one year to 5th April the next.
Also covers any donations in the last four years
You can also back date your declaration to cover donations made during the last four years. Provided you paid enough tax, in the relevant tax years, to cover the amount we will reclaim.
Additional benefits for higher rate tax payers
If you pay tax at the higher rate, you can claim further tax relief through your Self-Assessment tax return. The difference between the lower rate and the higher rate is yours to keep. This means a donation of £80 costs you £60 assuming your income was taxed at 40 per cent. Paws & Claws would claim an additional £20 in basic rate tax making the donation worth £100.
Keep us up to date
If your circumstances change in the future and you no longer pay enough tax to cover the tax amount we will reclaim then you must immediately inform us. Similarly if you change your name or address please let us know.
