Dear Paws & Claws

Our last cat passed away nearly two years ago and we were finally ready to welcome a new cat into our lives.

Recommendations led us to Paws & Claws and after contact them, we came to look at a prospective cat.

The first thing that strikes you is the professionalism and commitment of the team of volunteers. The help that they gave to make sure that we got a cat that was the right fit for us was invaluable. They give you a full and honest picture of the cats' histories, temperaments and personalities. Naturally, they also ensure that you can provide the home and support the cats need.

Paws & Claws provides clean, spacious and cosy accommodation for their cats. Everything is so clean and well maintained. Although we met several cats, our heart's were taken by a little year old black cat called Wendy. Although shy, she eventually came out to say hello. Her story was a particularly sad one, which made us all the more determined to be her new forever home.

Given her background, we expected a few challenges when we took her home. She hid under the sofa at first, but within days she was playing and interacting with us.

Two months on and Whitby, as we now call her, has made herself well and truly at home. She is playful and energetic and loves to hide in drawers and cupboards! She is affectionate and hangs out with us whichever room we're in. We really felt trusted when she started sitting on our laps. She is relaxed and confident around people and is one of the family now.

Everyone at Paws & Claws was amazing but we would especially like to thank Val for making our journey to find a new cat such a warm and special experience.
